Hue Story is an iOS app developed by Cole McMullin. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how we handle it.
What we collect
Email address — if you sign up with email. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive whichever address Apple relays (real or private relay).
Apple user identifier — when you use Sign in with Apple.
Session metadata — number of sessions, minutes of audio, story counts. No audio content, no transcripts.
Subscription status — provided by Apple via StoreKit.
Crash reports — technical diagnostics sent via Sentry (coming soon). These do not contain audio, transcripts, or your stories.
What we do NOT collect
Audio recordings. We never upload raw audio. Transcription happens on-device or through a short-lived streaming token that is never stored.
Transcript content. The words you read stay on your phone.
Story text. The content of your Hue Story stories is stored locally on your device.
Third-party services
Supabase — authentication + account database (hosted on AWS us-east-1).
OpenAI — narrative Director inference. Only structured context metadata is sent (current scene summary, lighting state) — never raw audio or full transcripts.
Sentry (coming soon) — crash reporting. Stack traces only; no audio or transcript content.
